Practical tools to help you plan, prepare and build a life on the road.
Start With a Plan, Not Just a Dream
Thinking about RV life is exciting. Figuring out how you're actually going to make it work can get overwhelming pretty quickly.
What should you look for before buying an RV or trailer?
What will this lifestyle really cost?
Where will you stay? What happens when something goes wrong?
How do you downsize your life into a tiny space?
Where are you going to put everything?
And if you're planning to live this way in Canada, what happens when winter shows up?
Then there is the part people don't always talk about: adjusting mentally and emotionally to an entirely different way of living.
The Nomadic Starter Tool Kit brings those conversations together in one practical collection of guides, workbooks and worksheets designed to help you start asking the right questions and building your own plan.
These resources come from the lessons we've learned through five years of actually living full-time and nomadically in our RV in Ontario. They're not about creating a perfect version of RV life. They're about helping you prepare for the real one.
What's Inside
Buyer’s Inspection Worksheet
A practical tool to help you slow down, look beyond appearances and work through important areas of an RV or trailer before making a purchase decision.
Emergency Planning Guide & Worksheet
Think through emergencies before you're standing in the middle of one. Start building plans for communication, backup options, important information and the unexpected situations that can happen when your home is also on wheels.
Emotional Adjustment Worksheet
Nomadic living changes more than your address. Explore the emotional side of changing routines, sharing a smaller space, letting go of familiar comforts and adjusting to a very different lifestyle.
Build Your Nomadic Parking Strategy
Start developing a parking system that works for your own lifestyle. Think through locations, routines, movement, backup options and how you'll approach one of the biggest realities of living nomadically: figuring out where you're going to stay.
The Real Money Plan Guide & Workbook
Move beyond simply asking whether RV life is cheaper. Work through the real expenses, changing costs, unexpected repairs and financial decisions that come with life on the road while beginning to build a budget that actually reflects your situation.
RV & Trailer Winter Systems
Winter RV living requires systems. Work through heating, water, power and other cold-weather considerations to identify potential weaknesses and start preparing your RV or trailer before temperatures drop.
Life & Mindset Prep Worksheet
Take some time to think beyond the RV itself. Explore your expectations, routines, flexibility, responsibilities and mindset before making a major lifestyle change.
Downsizing for RV Life
Start deciding what actually deserves space in your new home. Work through what to keep, sell, donate, store or let go of while preparing to move from a traditional home into a much smaller living space.
Small Space Storage Hacks
Learn practical ways to think differently about storage when every cupboard, bin and empty corner matters. Start making your limited space work harder without bringing your entire old household along for the ride.

Built For
Future RV and trailer owners, new full-time RVers, families considering nomadic living, North American nomads, and anyone who knows they want a different way of living but isn't quite sure how to turn that idea into an actual plan.
Before we started living nomadically, we spent more than ten years watching people live this lifestyle online. We researched, we learned, and eventually, we made our own plan. By the time we moved into our RV, we thought we were prepared. Then we actually started living it.
That's when we discovered how much you simply can't learn from watching RV tours or someone else's highlight reel. Parking, money, winter, repairs, emergencies, small-space living and even your own mindset look very different when the RV isn't somewhere you're visiting for the weekend. It's your home.
Some lessons came easily. Others cost us money, time and a whole lot of stress.
We created the Nomadic Starter Tool Kit to give you a better starting point than we had. It won't make every decision for you, nor should it. Your version of nomadic living needs to work for your family, finances, RV and goals. What these tools can do is help you slow down, ask better questions and start building practical systems before you're forced to learn everything the hard way.
You don't need to know everything before you begin. But you should know what questions to start asking.
Plan smarter. Prepare better. Build a life on the road that actually works for you.
